You are missing all of the wonderful programs at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI !!!!
Hattie says
Unfortunately those programs are not accredited by AATA 🙁 I live in RI but moved to Springfield for this reason. I wish RI would get accredited!!!

Hello!
I currently graduated undergrad with a BA in Fine Art and a minor in Psychology. I am looking into the Expressive Therapies program at Lesley University and even have an interview set up for next week. I was hoping to maybe get in touch with someone who is familiar with their program. Any advice in general would be great! Thank you! epalicakos@gmail.com

im looking for a collage in my area im graduating high school in the spring and want to start as soon as i can if there are any suggestions for how to start my career please write.

my best suggestion to you is to get your undergraduate degree in fine arts or psychology and minor in the other. you cannot get a license in art therapy unless you have a masters degree. so, focus your undergrad on making art and your masters degree on art therapy. best of luck!
Emily says
Sandra… late to respond but The New School in NYC has a certificate program in art therapy!
Sylvia says
Hello,
I am currently double majoring in Studio Arts (undeclared) and Psychology and minoring in Music (Voice) at Umass Dartmouth, but I would like to study Expressive Arts Therapy ultimately at Lesley. However, I am not sure what to study in my undergraduate career to prepare me for this.
I was thinking about double majoring in Art Therapy and Music Therapy, or double majoring in Neuroscience and Studio Arts with a minor in music.
This is really important and I need to apply soon…Please help! 🙁

Carole Singh says
I am looking to open a ceramic, pottery and painting studio where one on one art therapy and lessons are taught to anyone wanting to learn. I am located here in Springfield MA. I am looking for teachers or therapists interested in working with my non profit.
Jeanne Kowal says
Hi Carole, this sounds very appealing… I love working with clay and working with people. I’ve been an artist for over 30 years. I will be going back to school for art therapy in the fall but would love to get some hands on experience now.

Lesley rejected me for admissions for Master’s program. I found much better school to feed instead. Could I ask if you know what’s the demand for Art Therapy in the state of Massachusetts? I’m currently completing Master’s program in Mental Health Counseling (online) I wonder if I should get certificate, or additional Masters in (online) Art therapy?
Emily says
I will be graduating in may with my undergrad in social work with minors in psychology and studio art. I’m trying to find a less intense way to get a degree in art therapy. I live in south eastern Massachusetts
