Congratulations to Kiteboarding 4 Cance (KB4C) and their participants for raising $2500+ to help fund a new art therapy program at the Children’s Hospital in Seattle. The money is being donated to Scotty’s Guild – a fund that was started early this year to help fund a new art therapy program at the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
You can read more about this on the KB4C blog, but basically there was a 19 year old teenager named Scott that was a poet and artist that passed away from Acute Lymphoctic Leukemia at Seattle Children’s in June of 2007. He is well known in Seattle for using art therapy to help battle cancer. There was no formal art therapy program at the time, so his family made sure to provide Scott with any art supplies he needed, such as paints, pastels, wood blocks, canvases, etc. They helped transform Scott’s hospital room into an art studio tht helped Scotty fight cancer with art therapy.

I am interested in going to Antioch University in Seattle for Art Therapy. I graduate in May with a Communication, Fine Art and Psychology degree, but would like to gain hands on experience first. Any suggestion on job opportunities in the Seattle area?
